So, without further delay, let me list out the 15 essential pages for a website.

15 Website Pages For Your Blog:

1. Landing Page

A landing page is the heart of your website. It creates the first impression. Once a user lands on your home page, You have just three seconds to impress that user.

That’s it.! Within this time, you should tell the visitors what your website offers.

So use this opportunity to make it clear to your website visitors what your website is all about.

The main goal of your landing pages is to convince your visitors to take specific actions on your website that can bring you business directly.

To make sure you have the best-optimized homepage to impress your visitor, I’ve outlined 9 features that need to be included. Go through this post and make sure you have included each one of them.

2. About Page

About Page is one of the basic pages for a website. If you are a single owner you can name it About Me, or else name it About us.

You can use this page to build a connection with your readers. You can share what makes you create this blog, its experience, its purpose, mission, vision, and values.

Also, talk about the benefits your readers get from your blog.

You can use this page to tell readers about the people behind the blog. If you are a single owner then share some basic information about yourself.

Why?

Because people want to know who’s responsible for the content that they’re reading.

It helps your readers to know you better and connect with you. People trust you when they get to know the real person behind the scenes.

How to optimize your About Page?

Readers, customers, advertisers, and the press, may want to contact you. They may want to connect with you without leaving a public comment on your blog.

This contact page helps them to reach you easily. It contains a simple contact form. When someone fills out the form, you will get their message delivered to your inbox.

There are many WordPress plugins available to create forms. WPForms is one of the famous plugins to create forms. You can easily create forms by the drag-and-drop method.

Use clear images for your article’s featured image.

Display the category of each article.

But Remember, Never recommend anything that you have not tested. Share only quality resources with your readers that can help them achieve their goals.

8. Work with me

If you are providing any services in your blog, then it is a good idea to keep the “Hire Me” or “Work With Me” page.

Make sure to list out all the services you are providing, the description, the charges for your service, etc. It shows professionalism and makes it easy to reach you.

Whenever a visitor attempts to visit a link or page on your site which do not exist, he’ll be redirected to the 404 Error page. In simple language, a 404 error means “page not found“.

WordPress comes with a simple 404 page with the message “Oops! That page can’t be found”.

Do you think it please your visitors?

I don’t think so.

I would suggest you use your creativity and convince your visitors to visit the homepage or do a quick search on your site.

By doing so, you can avoid the reading leaving your website immediately after landing on the “404 page”.

Also, include the links to some of the popular articles on your website. It helps the users to go through related pages.

Creativebloq.com has a collection of 34 dazzlingly designed 404 pages.

11. FAQs

This page is one of the most useful pages on your website. Most of the time readers may come up with many questions. This page helps them to get their answers instantly.

In the beginning, You can add some useful questions and answers to this page which helps your readers.

Later, you can add the frequent questions asked by your readers to this page.

Also, having a FAQ page is a great way to save time by avoiding answers to the same questions again and again.

When people ask a question you have already answered, simply link to this page.

12. Sitemap

A sitemap is a map of all your website contents. There are two types of sitemap.

  • XML Sitemap
  • HTML Sitemap

XML Sitemap

XML Sitemap is not for readers but for search engines. It contains a list of the links to all the posts and pages on your website, along with some other information like the last modification date, etc.

It ensures that Google and other search engines are aware of all your content and helps to increase the chance of indexing and ranking.

How to create XML Sitemap?

You don’t need to take the burden of creating an XML Sitemap. Most of the SEO plugins come with an inbuilt XML sitemap.

Some of the following SEO plugins include a built-in XML sitemap

  • Rank Math
  • Yoast SEO
  • Jetpack Plugin
  • All-in-One SEO Pack
  • SEOPress

If you are using any one of the above plugins, then all you have to do is just enable the XML Sitemap option.

Don’t forget to submit it to search engines. Harsh Agarwal has a guide on how and where to submit sitemaps for better visibility. Be sure to check that out.

HTML Sitemap

HTML sitemap is for your readers to find out all the contents of your site quickly. It includes links to all of your posts and pages.

If your blog has more articles, then it includes the most important posts and pages.

It helps your readers to get an outline of all the contents of your website and makes it easier for them to navigate your site and pass the link juice around your site.

Also, It is another way to ensure that Google crawlers find all your content on this page.

You can either create it manually or use the plugin.

I would suggest you use this plugin instead of creating it manually to avoid creating a link to every page on your website and adding a link every time you create a new page.

Simple steps to set up your HTML Sitemap Page:
  1. Install the WP SEO HTML Sitemap plugin.
  2. Create a page titled “Sitemap”.
  3. Go to “Settings” and click “SEO HTML Sitemap” from your Admin panel Dashboard.
  4. Settings:
    1. Sitemap Page: Select “Site Map”.
    2. Location on Page: Select “After Page’s Content”.
    3. Disable Plugin’s CSS?: Select “Disable the CSS Styles”. To avoid unnecessary extra CSS resources on your site.
    4. Link to XML Sitemap: Choose “No, Don’t Link to the Sitemap XML”.
    5. Credit Link: Select “Don’t add”. Sorry Plugin Author.
    6. Hit the “Save Changes” button.
  5. Add a link to your new HTML Sitemap page in the footer of your website.
  6. You’re done!

See how easy that was? A few quick steps to increasing the quality of your website!

13. Disclaimer

If you have monetized your blog then, this page is essential. This page should explain to your readers how you are making money from your blog and what is the cause for the readers. Don’t forget to mention all kinds of monetization methods you are using in your blog.

If you display sponsored ads, paid reviews, Adsense, etc then you can inform users that this is how your content is monetized.

If you have monetized your blog with affiliate products, then inform your readers that this is an affiliate link and explain to them what happens to them when they click those links.

I would suggest you add this page from Day 1 even whether you have monetized it or not.

14. Privacy Policy

The privacy policy page basically informs users about how you and other third parties use the data you collect on your website. Even if you are not collecting any user data, third-party tools like Google Analytics, Adsense, etc store users’ cookies.

For example, Google Adsense stores user cookies to show relevant ads to users. So, it is important to mention the use of cookies clearly within your privacy policy page.

Not Convinced?

Google needs a privacy policy page before they approve your site to display ads.

Also, a Privacy Policy agreement is required by law if you’re collecting personal data from your users. This data can be anything like name, address, email, credit card details, and so on.

For instance, I collect the email and names of users who wish to be a part of my newsletter.

There are many Privacy Policy Generators available online. Alternatively, you can also take a look at our privacy policy page and use it to create your own.

I recommend you use Privacy Policy Generator to automatically create a policy for your website.

Adding a privacy policy page can be confusing as most of us have no idea of the legal terms. And with the recent data protection laws (GDPR), it is necessary to create GDPR compliance privacy policy pages.

Below are a few tools to help you create a privacy policy page. Be sure to customize them accordingly.

15. Terms of Service

As the name says, If you are providing any services, then you should have Terms of Service Page.

If you are selling products or services on your website, then this page is a must.

It allows you to limit your liability in case of misuse of information and services provided on your website.

It can also be used to inform users about their responsibilities regarding the copyright and trademark, and how they can use your website, product, or services.

This is a legal document – You can use TermsFeed to generate a Terms and Conditions agreement.

Having a proper terms page will help you in case of misunderstanding the information on your websites. It also helps to protect your copyright. So it is important to analyze every aspect and mention the issues and information on that page.

Hope I have covered all important website pages. Please leave your thoughts in the comment section.
