Finally, you are ready to write your blog post.

Content Writing is an art. It requires practice to master it.

Remember, “Content is King“.

No matter how well you designed your blog if your content failed to give valuable information to your readers, your blog fail.

It is also important to keep in mind that great content is about more than just typing. Images, videos, different fonts, and colors all make your content look eye-catching and interesting.

Blogs are not books, and they need to have something different other than just a huge block of text to keep the readers’ interest.

Here, I share a few suggestions to keep in mind while writing your blog post.

1. Do Proper keyword research

Keyword research plays an important role in blogging. You can either use paid keyword research tools or free tools.

Moreover, you can get keyword ideas from your competitors’ websites, Google’s related searches, Google AdWords, etc.

Also, you can find new topic ideas from social media platforms.

I recommend using the Topic Research tool to get content ideas.

Keyword research is a massive topic and I will share a detailed article on how to do proper keyword research soon.

Tips for Keyword Research

  • Target long-tail keywords
  • Choose low-competition keywords. But make sure it has enough search volume.
  • Maintain an Excel sheet and finalize the keywords for your post.

2. Plan your content

I guess you have a handful of keywords to target. Now it’s time to plan your content.

You can use Excel or use a Trello board. I prefer paper and pen.

Maintain a schedule and stick to it. I would recommend publishing at least one post per week.

3. Start with a suitable and compelling title

Your title is the first thing users in the search engine. Your title should be powerful enough to convince the readers to click on it and bring them to your blog.

  • Use power words in your title.
  • If possible use a number in your title.
  • Your title should trigger an emotion.
  • Include your focus keyword in your title.

4. Create an outline

First, you have to start with an outline of your blog post.

Check the top-ranking articles in the SERP of your target keyword. Analyze the gap in their content and create a complete outline for your blog post.

Include the necessary subtitles for your content and make note of important points that come under that subheadings.

This helps you to write your content easily.

5. Write quality content

Tips to Write Your Blog Post

  • Imagine that you are talking to your friend. Your tone should be “I” and “You”.
  • Don’t stuff keywords. Use it naturally. Write for your readers, not for search engines.
  • Never copy content from other websites. Your content should be original.
  • Keep it easy to understand. If you can’t explain it simply it means you don’t understand it properly.
  • Your content should cover all in-depth details of the selected topic. However, it is not necessary that all your content should be 2000+ words. What is important is how much valuable information you are giving to your readers.
  • Use short paragraphs.
  • Add a featured image.
  • Highlight important points.
  • Include Images, Videos, and Infographics in every possible place.
  • Add “alt tags” for your images.
  • Add internal links at necessary places.
  • Feel free to add external links to related topics
  • Give credits to the creator at the required places.

6. Complete Editing/Proofreading

Check for grammatical, and typographical errors. You can use Grammarly to edit your content.
